D4L Addresses Comments by Dem Franchize Boyz
Atlanta, GA (December 28, 2005) – Johnnie Cabbell, manager of blazing hot
rap quartet D4L, this week addressed a series of accusations made against
the group by fellow Atlanta group Dem Franchize Boyz. Said Cabbell, “For
months now we have ignored some of the negative comments and accusations
that have been made by members of Dem Franchize Boyz but I feel that the
time has come to make our position clear on this matter.”
Cabbell says Dem Franchize Boyz have leveled a series of accusations against
D4L, ranging from ‘sabotaging’ a show at which they all performed to
‘stealing’ the now famous two-step that D4L popularized and refers to as
‘doin it.’
“We have no beef with Dem Franchize Boyz or with any other group,” says
Cabbell. “We understand, however, that sometimes when acts have nothing
positive to talk about in their careers they resort to criticizing other
acts that they feel are more successful. I think that’s the case here. We
would much rather spend time talking about the positive things that D4L is
doing: we climbed all the way to number two on the Billboard charts, we’re
playing arenas and steadily making appearances across the country and
overseas. It’s unfortunate that we have to interrupt such a positive stride
to address something so negative.”
Cabbell has invited Dem Franchize Boyz to address any issues that they have
with D4L, Dee Money Entertainment or Hitt Afta Hitt Management “in a
professional manner” so that all parties can move forward in a positive
direction.
NOTE: "Laffy Taffy" is the #1 downloaded song in the country, topping the
digital song chart for the first week, selling 54,165 digital tracks in
front of #2 Mariah Carey
(Don't Forget About Us with 49,673) and #3 Nelly (Grillz with 48,825).
